Guardianship/Conservatorship

Guardianship/Conservatorship

A conservator or guardian is a person appointed by the court to make financial (if a conservator or guardian of the estate) or health care (if a conservator or guardian of the person) decisions on behalf of someone who lacks the requisite capacity to make those decisions for themselves. The process of having a conservator or guardian appointed is also referred to as living probate.
